Oakley residents Michael and Rhonda Courtemanche recently gave their daughter, U.S. Army Spc. Allison Courtemanche, a warm welcome home. Allison enlisted in the Army Reserve in 2005 and just got back from her year-long tour in Baghdad. Allison was attached to the 335th Signal Theater Command, 3rd Sig Brigade, 324th Signal Battalion B Company, out of Ft. Gordon, Ga. While in Iraq, Allison performed various missions, including controlling all military convoy communications throughout Iraq using the Army's newest and most advanced technology, escorting Iraqi local nationals and becoming a fiber-optic specialist. A 2004 graduate of Freedom High School, Allison is currently studying television broadcasting. Before leaving for Iraq she was attending school and was a broadcasting intern for the Oakland A's. She hopes to go back to school to finish her bachelor's degree at San Francisco State. Welcome home, Allison!
