Antioch's Business of the Year 2007, Schooner's Grille & Brewery, is holding its seventh annual Schooner's Golf Tournament at Roddy Ranch Golf Club on Monday, Oct. 1 at 12:30 p.m.

Last year, the sold-out tournament raised $15,400 for local scholarships. This year's tournament, co-sponsored by Mirant, is expected to be another successful fundraiser

for Antioch's youth.

Proceeds from this year's event will be divided between the Deer Valley High School Parent-Teacher-Student Association and the Schooner's for Scholarships Program at both Antioch and Deer Valley high schools.

The DVHS PTSA proceeds will be used as a resource to help meet the emotional needs of DVHS students. The Schooner's for Scholarship Program is administered through the Antioch Community Scholarship Fund and helps students with their college tuition.

"This year's Schooner's Golf Tournament will offer extra benefits to our youth in Antioch by helping to meet both the emotional and academic needs of our students," said Schooner's Managing Partner Shawn Burns.

Distinguished Donor sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, stop by Schooner's, 4250 Lone Tree Way in Antioch, and request Distinguished Donor information, or call 776-1800 to speak with Shawn Burns.

If you do not wish to participate as a Distinguished Donor but would like to show your support for Antioch's youth, Schooner's is still accepting donations for raffle prizes. Make your check payable to Schooner's Golf Tournament and submit it with a sponsorship form to Schooner's Grille & Brewery.

A few "golf-only" opportunities are still available, which includes greens fees, lunch and dinner.
