The Liberty Lion varsity football team snapped a 10-game losing streak last Thursday in Vallejo, trouncing the Hogan Spartans 60-20 to earn its first win since Nov. 10, 2005. Senior running back AJ Winn averaged nearly 15 yards per carry, rushing for 117 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries. Junior running back Nate Humphrey, above, nearly matched Winn, racking up 108 yards and two touchdowns of his own on eight carries. Running back David Gray also found the end zone twice for the Lions, scoring on a 55-yard punt return and a 47-yard run. Liberty (1-3, 0-2 BVAL) looks to string together consecutive wins for the first time since the 2005 season when the team travels to Deer Valley on Friday, Oct. 5, for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff against the Wolverines (2-2, 0-2).
