On Monday Oct. 8 at 11:06 am, the Antioch Police Department received a call of an armed robbery that had just occurred at Bank of the West at 2507 Somersville Road.

A white male adult, 35-45 years of age entered the bank, walked up to a teller and demanded money. He partially revealed a black handgun that was tucked in the front of his waistband, according to police.

After receiving money, he left the bank in a silver or grey minivan, possibly a Ford Windstar with a second unknown subject inside the van. It is unknown at this point if this suspect is connected to any prior bank robberies.

Update

After the photos of the responsible bank robber were released, a tip came into the Antioch Police Department that the responsible was Douglas Barr (41 years old, transient). Through investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Barr for his involvement in this robbery.

On Oct. 13 at approximately 2:30 p.m., another tip came in stating that Barr may be at Motel 6 in Pittsburg. Antioch and Pittsburg officers responded to that location, and placed Barr under arrest without incident. Evidence of the crime was also located at the scene.
