Could anything be more appealing on a beautiful fall afternoon than listening to a good jazz group riff the classics by Eubie Blake, Lionel Hampton, et al while sipping a marvelous wine at Hannah Nicole Vineyards? That's what about 100 wine lovers did Saturday while enjoying a sunny, cool day on the vineyard's lush green lawn.

The event included young dancers from Fabulous Feet Dance Studio, who performed two tap routines for an appreciative audience. Also featured was a quartet of musicians that included Pete Yellin, who has been compared to such sax greats as Cannonball Adderly. Jewelry and art were available for purchase from local vendors, and El Gallito was there offering delicious Mexican cuisine.

Richard and Kay Meucci were among the many couples who attend Hannah Nicole events. "We've been here for several of these tastings and really enjoy coming out here," said Kay.

Hannah Nicole vintner Glenda Cohn said that after a year and a half of tasting events, the vineyard has earned a growing number of customers. "Everyone is so respectful when they come here. We have a great family of friends in our wine club."

Anyone who hasn't been out to do some tasting with them can stop by any Saturday between 1 and 4 p.m. As the Cohns are fond of saying, "Having a glass of wine with friends is a great way to while away an autumn afternoon." They encourage guests to bring a picnic basket and enjoy the last beautiful days of autumn before the rainy season descends.
