Discovery Bay School was the recipient of a $2,000 donation from Prince Realtors, as well as from Janette Patterson, chair of the event Slow Boat Poker Run sponsored by the Discovery Bay Yacht Club. The event was run by the Splashers, a local community group working out of the Discovery Bay Yacht Club. Splashers are dedicated to raising charitable donations for good causes. The Splashers' recent Slow Boat Poker Run fundraiser was held to benefit many local charities. Discovery Bay Elementary School was just one of many organizations the group has helped. Above, Patterson and Maureen Prince are seen giving the school's mascot, DB Dolphin, a check for $2,000 to be used for new picnic tables and play equipment. Before heading back to the Delta, where the dolphin spends most of its time, DB was able to greet the representatives and say hi to both students and parents.
