Local wakeboarders Jeremy and Alyssa Twelker recently traveled to Zachary, La. to compete in the 10th annual INT US Championships. Jeremy, 16, won his division, taking home a first-place trophy in Wakeboard Advanced. Alyssa, 18, also did extremely well in the competition, placing second in the Wakeboard Women's Intermediate division.

The INT US Championships is the largest water sports event of its kind in the country. Participants must earn entry by accumulating points by competing at INT tour events throughout the season, assuring that only the best of the best make it to the prestigious championship event.

The Discovery Bay residents put in long hours honing their skills on the Delta along with their younger brother Josh, 14. The trio is typically out on the water three or four days a week jumping, flipping and spinning behind their Malibu Wakesetter in an attempt to advance their West Coast style and master the newest, biggest tricks. Even in the cold of winter, the Twelkers can be found out on the Delta in their wetsuits and drysuits, diligently working on their skills.

The Twelkers thank their sponsors, CWB Wakeboards and Babe's Boat Products, whose continued support allows them to strive to be the best.
