Blatant discrimination

Editor:

The Mello-Roos tax in Antioch is patently discriminatory. To think that in the year 2007 discrimination to this extent still exists is appalling.

Why should a few homeowners in the current environment bear the burden of the entire community for capital improvements? These improvements are for the benefit of all the community; but because of this blatant discrimination, the discriminated-against few pay for it all.

As a new arrival in 2004, I thought it was appalling, but thought I could live with it because it had an end. Now I am informed that this so-called Mello-Roos Board is adding millions to support the entire community with the tax applied to the discriminated-against few. This is appalling and blatant discrimination.

Where is the American civil liberties community when such an atrocity is happening?
