Ruth Evette Menkemeller

Ruth Evette Menkemeller passed peacefully into eternal life on Oct. 28, 2007 at the age of 87. Born in Rugby, N.D., the daughter of a Methodist minister, Ruth was an alumna of Kansas Wesleyan University.

She retired from Lockheed Missiles and Space in 1987 after 25 years of service. A resident of Brentwood for the past 5½ years and of San Jose for 40 years, Ruth was an active member of Eastern Star, the Ladies Oriental Shrine and Djinnis. She lived her life in and through the United Methodist Church and was president of the United Methodist Women at Brentwood Community United Methodist Church.

Ruth is survived by her sister, Jean Dutra of Redding; son, William (Vickie); daughter, Jan Schults (Jeff); son, Robert; grandchildren, Marc, Lindsey, Lola, Rebecca, Kyle; and nieces and nephews.

Two memorial services are planned: Saturday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. in the Brentwood Community United Methodist Church, 809 Second St. (634-3093), and Monday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. in San Jose Masonic Temple, 2500 Masonic Drive in San Jose (408-267-7121).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brentwood Community United Methodist Church at the above address, to the attention of the Memorial Committee-Building Fund-Bell Tower.
