Galt Jr. Warriors Black 12, Rookies Blue 6
The Delta Patriots Rookies Blue team fell short of its quest for an NYFL title, falling to the Galt Jr. Warriors Rookies in the Conference Championship round of the NYFL playoffs. The Patriots struck first, as a 52-yard touchdown pass from Joseph Tolentino to Nick Zalec got the team out to a 6-0 lead. Both defenses were stout throughout the contest, but with the game tied 6-6, the Jr. Warriors mustered up one last scoring drive, claiming a 12-6 lead on an eight-yard run with 1:30 to play. With no timeouts, 32 ticks left on the clock and 53 yards from the end zone, the Rookies Blue got a spectacular 48-yard completion from Tolentino to Zalec, who was double-covered. However, a final desperate pass was intercepted in the end zone, extinguishing the team's hopes.
