Thanksgiving came early to Brentwood Sunday On Nov. 18y afternoon. Grace Bible Fellowship hosted its fifth annual Thanksgiving Outreach by inviting the community to feast on a free, full-course Thanksgiving meal.

"It is great to see our faith put into concrete action," said Ralph Saviano, one of the event organizers. "It is so wonderful to spend time helping those less fortunate and offering hope to our community."

Over 400 meals were served to residents of the Brentwood area. Volunteers from Grace, other local churches and the community prepared all the traditional holiday fare including turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, yams, salads, desserts and all the fixings.

Attendees came from Brentwood, Antioch and the surrounding area. Many were low-income families that without the event would not have enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal. In addition, Grace handed out over 100 bags of donated groceries, donated items, food vouchers and clothing. Leftovers were donated to the Antioch Phoenix Program rehab facility.

Corporate sponsors included Wal-Mart, Chili's, Safeway, Starbucks and Raley's, all of which made substantial donations.

Volunteers expressed gratitude for the opportunity to give back to the community in a tangible way, and appreciation for the many blessings they enjoy during the holiday season and beyond.

Grace Bible Fellowship is located across from McClarren Park. Members of the congregation extend an open invitation to the community to join them for their regular activities.
