On Nov. 27 at 3:32 p.m., a 1993 Plymouth Sundance and a 1998 Toyota 4Runner were involved in a collision at the intersection of East 18th Street and Cavallo Road. Following the initial collision, the Toyota struck a 2006 Hyundai Elantra, causing minor damage to the Hyundai. The driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai was uninjured and released at the scene.

The 22 year-old female driver of the Plymouth, her 10-year-old passenger, and the 71-year-old male driver of the Toyota were transported to Sutter Delta Hospital by American Medical Response. The driver of the Toyota was admitted for minor injuries. The driver of the Plymouth was treated and released for a complaint of pain, but her passenger sustained fatal injuries.

The driver of the Plymouth, upon completing the identification process, was released by the Antioch Police Department without charges. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and fault has not been determined.
