Editor:

On Sept. 9 at approximately 9 p.m. at the corner of Fairview Avenue and Balfour Road, a hit-and-run accident took place while I was walking my four dogs. Three of my family's four dogs were run over and killed by a flatbed work truck.

The driver of the truck came up onto the sidewalk and did not stop. According to some eyewitnesses and the report that was filed with Brentwood Police Department, the truck is bronze (brownish gold with a red tint) in color and had a rear bumper sticker that possibly read "Kemora" or "Kimora." If anyone has any knowledge of this accident, please contact the Brentwood police at 634-6911.

My family would like to thank the kind people who stopped and helped us during that traumatic experience. The three dogs that died that night were Duncan, a 13-year-old Beagle; Toby, a 1-year-old English Springer Spaniel; and Maggie, a 2-year-old English Springer Spaniel. Our dogs will be greatly missed.
