Gayle Van Horne

Brentwood resident Gayle Van Horne, born Feb. 6, 1940 in St. John, Quebec, Canada, passed away Dec. 10, 2007 at the age of 67.

Beloved wife of Chuck Hill for 27 years, Gayle also leaves a brother, Danny McDonald, a daughter, Jennifer Baldock, several nieces and a nephew in Canada, and stepchildren Christopher Hill and Stephanie Hill in California, as well as beloved feline companions Snowy and Rosie. She is preceded in death by her parents Ninian and Jacqueline McDonald, sister Lillian Davies, and beloved feline companions PONNC (Poor Old No Name Cat) and Libby.

Gayle always exhibited an unbounded concern and care for the welfare of others over and above her own. An accomplished world traveler, Hawaii was her favorite place in the world to be. She was also a champion of feral cats at home and everywhere she traveled.

A celebration of Gayle's life is scheduled for February. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either Best Friends Animal Society at www.bestfriends.org or An Elderly Wish Foundation at www.elderlywish.org.
