By edging out Liberty by a half point at the Bay Valley Athletic League Tournament and securing second place, the Freedom wrestling team claimed its first-ever league title and the first league championship for any boys sport at the Oakley high school. Three Falcon wrestlers - Gonzolo Hernandez (heavyweight), Mike Sherman (125) and Cuyler Cooper (152) - took home individual titles at the league tournament. Another five Falcons finished in the top three of their weight class. The team gathered in the school gym last Wednesday to celebrate the historic title run and hoist the BVAL championship banner onto the wall.
