The 11th annual Spring to Life Fun Run & Walk will be held at Brentwood's City Park on Saturday, April 26. The event consists of a 5K run/walk, 1-mile run/walk, and a recreational 1-mile Dog Jog. Proceeds from the event benefit local youth and senior services.

The Dog Jog 1-mile run/walk gives dogs and their owners the opportunity to exercise together on the course that traverses downtown Brentwood and surrounding neighborhoods.

Brentwood K-8 students are encouraged to sign up for the School Challenge competition. The Brentwood school with the most participants running or walking in either the 1-mile or 5K race will earn their school a $500 shopping trip at a local sporting goods store. To participate in the School Challenge, students must pre-register by April 4.

Prizes will be awarded to the overall winners for the 5K and 1-mile races, and in age categories. Music, free nutritional snacks and water will be available to participants during the event.

The 1-mile race is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Dog Jog at 8:35 a.m., and the 5K race at 9 a.m. Race-day registration and check-in will be available from 7:15 to 8:15 a.m.

Pre-register by Friday, April 4, for a guaranteed race T-shirt. Online registration is available by visiting www.onyourmarkevents.com, by printing the registration form from the city of Brentwood Web site, or by picking up a form at the Brentwood Parks and Recreation Department, 730 Third St.

For additional information, call the department at 516-5444.
