Discovery Bay's Live Where You Play credo comes alive for the summer this weekend, May 16 through 18, as the 20th annual Discovery Bay Boat Show shoves off at the Discovery Bay Marina.

The event will feature the usual live music, food, fashion show and boats, boats, boats, but show goers will get a shot at winning a $5,000 Kawasaki Sport Utility ATV donated by Ed Landry, owner of Concord Kawasaki-Yamaha.

Vendors from throughout the state will be displaying some of the newest boats and toys for both land and water at this year's show. The Food Pavilion will be expanded, and top entertainment plus warm temperatures are expected to put everyone in a boating frame of mind.

The Boat Show runs Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Up to 7,000 people are expected to attend.

The Discovery Bay Lions Club will also sell raffle tickets for the Kawasaki ATV at the next two Lions' events: the Big Cat Poker Run on Aug. 9 and the Discovery Bay Lions Club Annual Golf Tournament Aug. 11.

Proceeds from the sales of raffle tickets will be directed to the Discovery Bay Community Surveillance Camera System. Tickets will be on sale at these events and available at the Discovery Bay Yacht Harbor Harbormaster's office. Tickets are $20 each ($100 for a book of six). For more information, call 925-634-5928.
