Everyone who uses the Delta is invited to attend one of the two boating safety classes being held on consecutive Wednesdays, May 28 and June 4, at the Discovery Bay Elementary School gymnasium from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The Sheriff's Marine Patrol will explain rules, regulations and many other matters pertaining to boating safety.

As Discovery Bay gains more residents and therefore more boating activity, I am glad to see that someone has taken steps to have boating safety classes in our community, said resident Dexter Stoops. As I often enjoy boating with my friends, you have to wonder where the common sense is with some of the boaters and wave runner operators in the Delta.

After the May 28 meeting, at 7:45 p.m., the Sheriff's Crime Prevention Department will discuss the latest information on thefts and burglaries in Discovery Bay and how residents can secure their homes, cars and the town. Everyone is encouraged to

attend. Discovery Bay Elementary is located at 1700 Willow Lake Road.
