Brentwood Rotary Club Scholarships

The Brentwood Rotary Club has announced its scholarship winners for 2008. Each Liberty Union High School District high school is granted ($2,000) in scholarships to be awarded however the institutions feel appropriate. La Paloma and Independence High Schools each receive ($1,000) in scholarship proceeds from the Rotary Club of Brentwood.

This year's recipients from Heritage High School are Michael Waddington ($1,000) and Taylor Isaacson ($1,000). Michael is president and Taylor vice president of the Heritage Interact Club, a group of students following the Rotary ideal of Service Above Self at the high school level.

This year's recipients from Liberty High School are Michelle Ngo ($1,000) and Lindsay Hammond ($1,000).

Freedom High School's scholarship winners and Rotary Students of the Quarter are Lauren Lagano ($500), Justin Irwin ($500), Shehzaka Jawed ($500) and Sean Lumsden ($500).

This year's recipients from La Paloma High School, all Rotary Students of the Quarter, are Jayme Lopez ($250), Celeste Yerena ($250), Arturo Acosta ($250) and Germain Suess ($250). Congratulations to all these students for maintaining good grade point averages.

Independence High School's scholarship winners are Jonathan Aguilar ($500) and LyndaMaria Magni ($500).
