Cheers and tears poured forth, beach balls and mortarboards sailed through the air, and a stadium packed with proud friends and families celebrated the Liberty High School Class of 2008 as it assembled for the last time.
We're one step closer to finding out where we fit in the big picture, said student speaker Brett McMahon. We know what we are, but we know not what we may be.
Sentimentality, eagerness, well-wishes and thanks washed over the students and rolled up the packed bleachers.
I don't even have a kid up there this year, one soggy-eyed parent was overhead saying as she looked on. I came just to absorb the hope and joy of the moment, and I wasn't disappointed.
