Father's Day at Black Diamond Mines

Bring Dad out to the mines on Father's Day from noon to 6 p.m. for a self-guided tour of the 1930s-era Hazel-Atlas silica sand mine. Golden Bough will be performing live Celtic music from 6 to 8 p.m. Bring chairs and a picnic dinner. The event is free, but a $5 parking fee is required. Jack Gilbert Fundraiser

Jack Gilbert was killed by a drunk driver on June 1. A bike run will be held in his memory on Sunday, June 22 in Bethel Island from Lundborg Landing, 6777 Riverview Road, to Tugs, 6201 Bethel Island Road. Proceeds will go the Gilbert family.
