Past and present Scouts and assistant scoutmasters of Troop 89 of Antioch gathered at Buchanan Park to celebrate outgoing Scoutmaster Norman Roy, above in the checkered shirt and seated.

Roy served as Scoutmaster for more than 16 years and has served in Scouting for more than 25 years.

Along the way he received many Scouting awards and was well known for his high adventure trips for the troop. He took them on a bike ride from Antioch to L.A., and to Eureka as well.He also took a trip to Mt. Whitney and shepherded numerous canoeing trips on the American River.

He is a retired C.H.P. officer out of the Martinez office.
