Editor:

A wonderful time was had by all at the SEED Foundation's Family Fun Picnic Event on Sept. 6. The event was organized as a thank-you to the entire community for all it does to support quality education at all three schools of the Byron Union School District.

The day's entertainment included an afternoon of water fun in the Discovery Bay Athletic Club pool and on the 60-foot inflatable water slide.

The Excelsior Middle School Leadership played the tunes to keep the picnic rockin' and the fun-filled day also included a rubber ducky race and a raffle.

Free hot dogs, chips and drinks were enjoyed, along with treats from local restaurants and businesses. Timber Point students Kathleen Burnight (third grade) and Haley Bostard (fourth grade), and Discovery Bay students Bailey Dow (fourth grade) and Bella Krassow (first grade) were the talented winners of the coloring contest featuring a caricature of our three distinguished school principals.

The SEED Foundation acknowledges and thanks the following sponsors for their generosity and support in helping to make its first Family Fun Picnic Event a great success: Aladino's Pizza Discovery Bay; Boards-N-More; Brentwood Car Wash; Coca Cola; Cookie Lee Jewelry Darylnne Fu; Dash Jack and Nancy Snaveley; Discovery Bay Athletic Club; Discovery Bay Elementary PTA; Discovery Baykery; Elements Salon; Friends of the Delta Public Library; Hollie Nguyen Elements Salon; Jamba Juice; Liberty Mutual; Loard's Ice Cream; Oakley Sport; Riding High; Safeway; Sports Bar & Steakhouse; Stacy Guthier; Tanker 9 Mark Hathaway; Team Ski Supreme; The Image Studio; The Margarita Man Dave Bautista; and Touch Plate.

SEED wishes to remind everyone of its upcoming Gala on March 7 at the Discovery Bay Country Club. Be sure to save the date!
