The Byron Union School District is accepting applications for a vacancy that has occurred on the Measure C School Bond Citizen's Oversight Committee. The committee was formed in October of 2006 in response to the passing of a Proposition 39 bond, and is charged with monitoring and reporting on the expenditure of Measure C bond proceeds.

Applicants must be a parent or guardian of a child enrolled in the district and active in a parent-teacher organization. Applicants must also be at least 18 years old and citizens of the State of California in accordance with Section 1020 of the California Government Code. Employees or officials of the school district, and vendors, contractors or consultants for the district may not apply.

Those interested in serving should contact Bev Nicolaisen at 925-634-6644, ext. 181 for an application and more information. The application deadline is 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24. The Board of Trustees will make the appointment to the committee on Oct. 28.
