Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed (FOMCW) and the Oakley Chamber of Commerce are presenting a Candidates Night on Oct. 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Oakley's City Hall Chambers, 3231 Main St.

All six City Council candidates Bob Caughron, Rodger McKeon, Jim Frazier, Brad Nix, Pat Anderson and Kevin Romick and both county supervisor candidates Federal Glover and Gary Agopian are expected to participate in the question-and-answer forum. Citizens in attendance will be encouraged to submit questions to be posed to the candidates by the moderators.

During this very important election season, much of the focus tends to be on the national campaign, said Oakley resident Diane Burgis, coordinator of FOMCW. It is our hope to help Oakley voters have a better understanding of the candidates that will represent them on the local level.

When asked why the Oakley Chamber of Commerce was involved in the event, Chamber President Steve Nosanchuk said, This is our country at it's best: to be able to ask a direct question of our candidates and to get a direct answer. That is what it's all about.
