Witches, goblins and other supernatural creatures, great and small, have much to choose from when it comes to horrific haunts this Halloween. The following offers a sampling of the area's finest fright sites and family-friendly celebrations:

Ongoing through October

Every weekend, now through the end of October, you can enjoy a family-friendly harvest celebration at Smith Family Farms. Attractions include a petting farm, corn maze, pony and wagon rides, pumpkin picking, arts and crafts and food and drinks. Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $3; children 3 and under are free.

The Chamber of Chills Haunted House is open every night through Nov. 1 at the Antioch Fairgrounds, it's the safest, scariest Halloween around. Events include the Chills Drive-in Caf
