The City of Oakley Recreation Division will be offering fun and informative classes for kids this fall in drawing, dance, crochet, yoga and juggling.
Projects in the Realistic Drawing class will focus on observation, proportion, composition, shading, perspective and three-dimensional form. Dance classes for children ages 3 and up: Pre-ballet and Pre-tap classes for kids 3 to 5, and Ballet Level 1 and Tap Level 1 for kids 6 and older. The classes will stimulate musical awareness while using fantasy and imagination. Instructor Mary Lyons is certified by the Royal Academy of Dancing in London.

Kids can also learn how to exercise their creativity in a patient and encouraging environment in a Beginning Crochet class taught by Norma Halley. They'll learn about hooks, yarns and the history of crochet. They'll make their own scarves, baby blankest, hats, pillow covers and more.
The class is open to children 10 and older and adults and is scheduled for Monday evenings, Oct. 20 to Nov. 24, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sessions will be held at 990A Rosemary Lane. The fee is $15 for Oakley residents; $25 for non-residents.

Just be over the age of 11, have two hands and a desire to learn. Juggling class starts with scarves, moves on to balls and from there, the sky's the limit.
