Editor:

I'm proud to be writing in support of my mom Claire Smith for the Antioch School Board. My whole life has been filled with school board attendance. My mom and I started attending school board meetings when I was just in kindergarten! I loved these special outings I had with my mom each week. As I got older, I wasn't able to attend all of the meetings with my mom, but she has never quit going since then.

After years of attending meetings, she decided it was time for her to make a difference with her vote on the board. I helped her run for her first seat on the school board. Mom has served on the school board, working tirelessly for the betterment of all of our students and their families as well as helping the school district staff to get the job done. My mom has been instrumental in bringing financial stability to our district.

Claire Smith has championed the opening of new, specialized schools like the Dozier-Libby Medical magnet high school and the Delta Academy for the Performing Arts high school as well as the district's first K-8 school.

These new schools give parents and students more choice in their educational goals.

I am really proud of my mother and am asking you to support her as she runs for re-election to the Antioch School Board. She has a proven track record and has done tremendous good for us as our representative on the board of education. Help us make this election another that sets our district on the path for success by reminding those around you to vote for Claire Smith.

Thank you for your support of my mother. I'm so proud of her she's my hero, and a hero to a lot of people in our community.

Thank you in advance for your support in the effort to elect my mom this coming November.
