One of Liberty High School's newest service groups is the Key Club, affiliated with the Kiwanis Club of Brentwood. Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students.

The student-led organization teaches leadership through serving others, building character as they build their schools and communities. Key Club projects include an adopt-a-family program for the holidays, and a drive to collect cash donations for UNICEF this fall.

Five Key Club members recently attended a two-day leadership training conference at the YMCA Camp Jones Gulch in La Honda involving 350 other Key clubs. Attendees includef Co-leader Kaitlyn O'Leary, Co-leader Angela Ostermiere, Secretary Catie Hoyt, Treasurer Kenzie Westfall and Kathleen Vu, pictured right.

Being a member of this club gives you a sense of empowerment, where your voice and presence is important, said O'Leary. This trip has benefited us to grow, speak freely and to encourage us in every aspect of our lives.
