The play is a suspense tale by the author of "Same Time, Next Year; Romantic Comedy and Tribute." It involves a successful mystery writer whose latest work has strangely turned into a romance, a vivid and adulterous romance novel.
His son, his second wife and his editor marvel at the truthfulness of the work, remarkable since it is inconceivable that he could ever have had such an affair.
Enter a woman intent on blackmail and whose story is foolproof and airtight. The other woman disappears and evidence incriminates Arthur in her murder. Is it a conspiracy or could he have done it? Audiences will find the play filled with cunning, deceit and ingenious plotting.
Auditions dates are Aug. 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m., with call backs on Aug. 17. They will be held at Pittsburg United Methodist Church, 153 W. Leland Rd.
The production will cast for three men (one in the 20-30 age range and two in the 50-60 age range) and four women (two in the 20-30 age range, one in the 30-40 age range and one in the 40-50 age range).
Prepare a one-to-two minute monologue, with British accent if possible. There will also be cold readings from the script.
Performances will take place the last three weekends in October.
