The 31st Annual San Francisco Stand Up Comedy Competition (warning: adult language) will be held Saturday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. This is a preliminary round to San Francisco's prestigious comedy tradition. Gold Circle tickets are $30; adults, $20; and seniors, $18.
Joni Morris presents 'Legendary Ladies in Country Music' on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. Critics have fallen all over themselves heaping praise on Morris' tributes to the great Patsy Cline, whose look, style and, most of all, sound, she captures magnificently. Mariachi Divas will perform on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. Mariachi Divas is a unique, multicultural ensemble of women of Mexican, Cuban, Samoan, Argentinean, Colombian, Japanese, Puerto Rican, Swiss and Anglo descent. The Divas have created their own style of music called 'ranchengue,' a unique combination of a ranchera played in merengue fashion. Gold Circle tickets are $35; adults, $25; seniors, $20; and children, $15.
Randy Newman will perform a solo concert on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. Newman is a premier American songwriter, arranger, singer and pianist known for his satirical, immaculately written pop songs and for his many film scores. He long ago established himself among our sharpest and most caustic wits and one of the real masters of modern American music. This concert is rescheduled from February. Tickets are $40 to $75.
Famous People Players performs its Black Light Theatre on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. Performed entirely by individuals with developmental disabilities, the show features stunning life-sized puppets in a magical glow-in-the-dark black light theater weaving an enchanting tapestry of extraordinary visuals and sunlit imagination. Tickets are $25 for adults; $22 for seniors; and $15 for children.
