Dunn Edwadrds Johnson

Antioch Police have arrested three people in connection with a murder and attempted murder in Antioch in March.

Stephon Johnson, 24, a Hayward resident, Hezekiah Edwards, 22, of Antioch and Oakland, and Manika Dunn, 29, of Antioch will face charges in the death of Antioch's Willie Lavall Jr., 23. Lavall was shot and dragged beneath a getaway car after an attempted kidnapping/robbery that occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Kodiak Street on March 24. Johnny Denton, 20, a Pittsburg resident, was also shot during the incident, but survived.

The getaway vehicle was traced back to a car rental company at the Oakland International Airport, according to an APD statement. The person who rented the car, 41-year-old Aberial Bradley, was found shot to death on March 28 on Brookdale Avenue in Oakland. Bradley's murder was apparently committed to prevent her from being a witness in the Antioch murder case, according to the statement.

Working together, Antioch and Oakland police investigators identified Johnson, Edwards and Dunn as responsibles in both murders. All three have been arrested and are being held at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin. Charges are being filed against them by the Alameda County District Attorney, who will prosecute both cases together in the Alameda County Superior Court.
