Editor:

I support Mike Hudson for the California State Assembly, District 11, which includes the East County. Mike has been endorsed by the Contra Costa Times as the only candidate who understands the issues that confront the district.

As a city councilman and vice-mayor of Suisun City, Mike has shown that he can build bipartisan solutions to problems, balance a budget and represent the core values of his constituents. Mike understands the state’s fiscal issues, including pension reform, and supports a balanced budget amendment that limits borrowing, caps spending and creates a true reserve fund.

Mike knows that California’s aging infrastructure is outdated and crumbling. But he also knows that jobs and economic growth, not new taxes, will generate the revenue to rebuild the infrastructure that includes not only schools and roads, but also the water storage and conveyances needed to keep the district’s farmland the most productive in the state.

Mike owns a small technology company in the district and understands the uses, benefits and dangers of technology and the unique needs of businesses in East County. I will vote for Mike Hudson on June 5 for State Assembly in the 11th district.

Hal Bray, Brentwood
