Aug. 23, Graveyard shift -

An adult male driver was traveling East on Davison Drive looking for a street sign when two female juveniles, ages 6 and 14, started to cross Davison Drive at the crosswalk. The driver did not see them until it was too late, and struck both of them with his pickup truck. Both victims were taken to Children's Hospital in Oakland. The 14-year-old suffered moderate injuries; the 6-year-old suffered life-threatening head injuries, and remains in critical/guarded condition at the hospital. The driver was not under the influence.

An officer made a traffic stop on West 10th Street and Crestview Drive. The vehicle was occupied by two adult males. The officer noticed the driver had a holster on his hip, but the gun was not visible. The occupants were ordered out of the car at gunpoint and the gun was found concealed in the passenger's pants. In addition, the suspects were found in possession of approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine. Both were arrested for weapon and drug charges and sent to County Jail.

A Brentwood officer witnessed a burglary in progress at the Valero Gas Station in Brentwood. He pursued the suspects into Antioch, but lost the vehicle in the area of Wildhorse Road. A citizen called to report that the suspect car had been parked unoccupied in his driveway on Ridgeview Drive. An Antioch K-9 started trailing the suspects. A short time later, an officer located two adult males walking through the neighborhood approximately 1.5 miles away and detained them. The K-9 tracked the suspects' scent directly to where the officer had detained the two subjects. During the track, a discarded glove was found in some bushes. The matching glove was found in the suspect's vehicle. Both subjects were identified and the stolen property from the burglary was found in the suspects' vehicle. The suspects were arrested for burglary and sent to County Jail.
