The East Bay Power, a local professional golf team, will make its National Golf League debut in Brentwood on Oct. 6.

The six-man team, comprised of local pros, will play 36-hole matches of alternate shot, best ball and scramble formats against the five other Nor Cal division NGL teams at the Brentwood Golf Club.

Unlike other pro tournaments, the NGL supports irreverence on the course, encouraging fans to cheer loudly for their favorite players.

One lucky spectator will receive a football autographed by legendary San Francisco 49ers linebacker Keena Turner, who will be on hand from 2 to 3 p.m.

Local high school golf team members interested in caddying for the event and earning community service credits in the process can call Mike Moynan at (916) 203-2941 or Terry Moynan at (530) 409-2966.

The Power is currently ranked fourth in the Nor Cal division standings after taking second last weekend in a tournament at Windsor Golf Club. East Bay Power players are Brentwood Golf Club head pro Dane Judson, Scott Olds, Vince Howell, Sean Demeter, Marty Foster and Andrew Streatfeild.
