The Falcon cheerleaders amazed themselves, their coaches and their families with phenomenal performances at the Peninsula Pop Warner Invitational held at the Shoreline Amphitheatre.
The Jr. Midgets team impressed new head coach Ann Martinez with a first-place victory in the Intermediate Division. Martinez, who is new to the team but not to the league, has a far younger squad than is usually found at this level. But the Falcon cheerleaders proved their readiness to compete by delivering a flawless performance for the judges.
The Midgets team also overcame an age deficit to place third out of seven teams in its division. The girls rallied together and rose to meet the challenges in arguably the most competitive division of the day.
The Jr. Pee Wee team competed in the largest division of the day. The team, which received valuable comments from the judges, plans to hit the practice field in preparation for the Peninsula Pop Warner Championships on Oct. 29.
The young Mighty Mite teams were nothing if not cute. The girls put on a wonderful performance and were very excited with the opportunity to show off their routine to the hundreds of spectators.
