The East County Youth Football program crushed the Walnut Creek Marauders last Saturday, sweeping all four divisions.

The Midgets team will advance to Sunday's playoffs at Pittsburg High School.

ECYF founder Mario Camilli noted the Diablo Valley Youth Football Conference's strength and commended his teams for their efforts against Walnut Creek and throughout the season.

Scouts: Michael Fournier, Jeremy Fournier and Seth Amerson led the attack against the Marauders. Cornerbacks Tyler Dalldorf and Izais Ward recorded tackles for the Lions. No scores are kept at the youngest level.

Junior Pee Wees: (4-6) The ECYF ironmen displayed their speed, strength and quickness in the 35-7 victory over the No. 4 ranked team in the league. The Lions have outscored their opponents 78-7 in the last two meetings after beating a speedy West Pittsburg team last Saturday 43-0.

Pee Wees: (5-4) Jaime Canales, Drew Fuentes, Cole Stine, Tanner Hill and Kurtis Shiftlett administered explosive blocks, and superstar Ke'jhan Clayton continued his scoring trend in the Lions' 42-6 victory. Devine Pere, Alexander Camilli and Kayne Mellor played well in the win.

Junior Midgets: The East County Junior Midgets knocked Walnut Creek out of playoff contention with a 12-8 victory. Anthony Davis, Daqwan Weaver and Justin Lee have been 2007 standouts. Roman Garcia, Elliott Runner and Joshua Baxter tallied tackles.

Midgets: (6-3) Corey Jenkins, Kyron Jones, Eric Katona, Ryan Howell and Brandon Halsell recorded receptions from quarterback Travis Pacos in the 22-0 domination. The win knocked the Marauders out of the playoffs. Pacos, who has thrown 11 touchdowns this season, continues to find Jenkins in every game. Jenkins is one of the league leaders in reception totals. Halsell's rushing total is close to 1,000. Dalton Combs, Timothy Corbin, Bradley Walton, John Francisco and Andrew Daughdrill led in the defensive shutout.
