The Fourth Annual Delta Navigator Parade of Lights will again wind through the streets of Discovery Bay, starting at approximately 6 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the Marina and ending at the Discovery Bay Shopping Center. This year's theme is "The Future...of Discovery Bay" and promises to be a wonderful parade with many interesting and exciting floats and groups.

School Resource Officer Kay will lead the way on behalf of the CCC Sheriff's Office, and Santa will help lead the parade on a Discovery Bay Chamber of Commerce sleigh. He will also be available for pictures at the shopping center until 8:30 p.m.

Highlights of this year's parade include enormous floats entered by Safeway, Sherman's Tiki Hut, local schools, dance teams, churches and literally dozens of others. The annual tree-lighting and award ceremony will take place shortly after the conclusion of the parade at the main stage by the parade.

Once again the folks of the Discovery Bay Lions Club will be handing out free chili during and after the parade for all the chilly attendees. Volunteers are still desperately needed to help organize and staff this enormous event. Please contact David Ciruli at 513-1436 or Amanda Dove 513-8226, if you are interested in helping out.
