A tale of two angels

Editor:

During the past few months it seems that there has been an increase of violent crime against children. Each and every time I hear of a child being abused, killed, etc. it bothers me deeply.

The very people whom children depend upon for their well being in all areas are the very people killing them. There are those in professional fields that can prevent some of these deaths, but for some reason choose not to.

Example: The little girl from Pittsburg. Per the evening news, she was examined by a doctor on the 20th of November, followed by a visit from a case worker on the 21st of November and another doctor visit on the 30th of November. Also per the evening news, all found nothing wrong, even though this child 2 years of age had a body weight of only 17 pounds. I have a granddaughter 2 years of age, with a body weight of 34 pounds.

Early into the month of December, I heard the little girl had eaten baking soda and was in critical condition. A few days later she had died. I must admit, I cried. When I arrived home, I wrote the following and do hope it is worthy of putting in your paper.

Two Little Angels (both age 2)

As the sun sinks slowly below the horizon, dusk turning to dark skies, My Little Angel Ilianna tires after a fun-filled day of hugs, kisses and numerous I Love Yous, changes into her sleep wear, goes to bed, slips between the covers, putting her head on a soft pillow, and after her evening hugs, kisses and hearing once again I Love You, closes her eyes and drifts into a deep sleep, awaiting a bright new fun-filled day of hugs, kisses and many more I Love Yous, for My Little Angel Ilianna lives in a loving, caring home, where her needs always come first.

God's Little Angel Deonna, all alone, in a cold dark room, is lying down also with her eyes closed. She too is covered, but God's Little Angel Deonna is covered from head to toe. There is no soft pillow, no evening hugs, kisses or the spoken words I Love You, for this night, God's Little Angel Deonna lies in a morgue, awaiting her final resting place, her soul no longer with her, but above, in the arms of The Almighty, watching over her, for God's Little Angel Deonna is now in a place where her needs will always come first, where every second is filled with hugs, kisses, and with meaning the words I Love You, for God's Little Angel Deonna now lives in Heaven.

For all who came into contact with God's Little Angel Deonna, you will stand to be judged and your soul will burn in Hell for ignoring and neglecting the needs of God's Little Angel Deonna.
