Nearly 360 martial artists from all over Northern California met at Heritage High School in Brentwood on Saturday for the Delta Smack Down tournament, hosted by Antioch's Delta One Martial Arts.

The daylong event featured a myriad of different styles and techniques like traditional karate, kajukenbo, taekwondo, stick fighting, kung fu, kenpo, open forms and traditional forms.

The event's 400 spectators were treated to an exciting halftime performance by Creative Forms World Champion, James Solis and his demonstration team the "Solistics", featuring special appearances by Creative Forms National Champion and cast member of MTV's "Final Fu", Hans Wikkeling and Traditional Forms World Champion and Creative Forms National Champion Scott Wu.

"It was an awesome tournament. People went away happy and excited about martial arts," said tournament organizer Tim Calvin, a third-degree black belt. "East County was definitely well represented."

Antioch's Enrico Molo earned the high honors of Grand Champion in the 10-11 year-old boys Sparring division.

Other local winners include Bryce Querubin (5 and under Point Sparring division), B.J. Querubin (6-7 year old Point Sparring division), Maegan Molo (12-14 year old girls Point Sparring division), Bran Lee Querubin (12-14 year old Creative Forms division) and Eric O'Neal (35 and over Kenpo/Polynesian Forms division and Men's Underbelt 35 and over Heavy Weight Point Sparring division).
