If that's ever been your lament when trying to choose a place for a bite of lunch, a sit-down dinner or just a cuppa joe, the Delta Kiwanis Club has the solution for you: the Pride of Southeast Restaurant Tour.
The tour runs between 1 and 5 p.m. this Sunday, April 22. It's a fundraiser for Kiwanis' charitable activities, and is sponsored by Tri Delta Transit and the Antioch Press.
"It's a way to check out restaurants you might not have been to before," said Martha Parsons of Kiwanis. "I've never met anyone who didn't enjoy it."
The event is one of two annual restaurant tours (the other takes place in the fall and focuses on the downtown area). Folks pay $12.50 each, hop aboard a Tri Delta Transit bus and are whisked right to the door of participating eateries. In addition to sampling the food, participants can check out the ambience and meet the staff at each location.
"It works out to just a little over a dollar per restaurant," said Parsons. "And you don't even have to worry about finding a parking place."
Restaurants on the itinerary include: Lone Tree Golf & Event Center, Schooner's Grille & Brewery, Mr. Pickles Sandwich Shop, Starbucks, Uno Chicago Grill, Bagle Street Cafe, Johnny Carino's, India 4U, Starbucks, Panera Bread and NYPD Pizza.
