Six members of the Heritage High School swim team are qualified for the post-season North Coast Section meet after Tuesday's double dual meet with Clayton Valley and Deer Valley.

The varsity boys 200-yard medley relay team of David Staton, Nick Brix, Clint Freeman and Dillon Barrett didn't win the event but still managed to qualify for NCS with a time of 1 minute, 49.97 seconds. Staton, Brix, Freeman and Nick Araujo are also qualified in the 200-freestyle relay. Shelby Ross qualified in the 500 free.

In their first season of varsity competition, the Heritage swimmers are making tremendous strides, impressing head coach Sally McGredy with dedication and results.

Last weekend, the Heritage program hosted the inaugural Spring Fling Relays and although the outcome did not affect the program's league records, the Patriot swimmers were able to break free from their comfort zones to compete in other strokes. Seven area high schools' swimmers, many of whom tend to compete individually, teamed up in a variety of relay events.
