"No hay que darle vueltas" means "There's no getting around it." There just aren't enough Mariachi bands, folklorico dancers and Mexican music DJs to go around. Well, as we all know, on Cinco de Mayo, many of us would-be-Mexicans-for-a-day need to celebrate a bit early, or late, as the case may be.

At Summerset II, the event came a day early but no one complained, as a magnifico Mariachi group was mated to fantastico Mexican food and terrifico decorations by organizers Joanne and Dennis Alsterlind, who created a celebration that pleased everyone. Jeanne Dean was part of the party and called it "A very pleasant evening: good food, good friends, nice music."

Speaking of nice, how nice it is for our nearest national neighbor to hold this annual holiday we can all enjoy so thoroughly. And while we're on the subject of joy, the Mexican libations were in great demand at Summerset II, as Margaritas, tequila shooters and Mexican Corona cerveza topped the list of most-wanted drinks. Thankfully, everyone sipped in moderation and avoided any embarrassing slips or falls.
