Liberty's Shane Jones notched a team-high nine kills Tuesday night as the Lions dispatched visiting Antioch in round one of the North Coast Section Class I boys volleyball playoffs.

Seeded seventh in the 12-team bracket, Liberty (22-11) never trailed in its 25-19, 25-15, 25-15 victory over the 10th-seeded Panthers (20-15).

Jake Everhart made 27 assists for the Lions while Manny Linzie and Jon Sullivan added eight kills and six kills, respectively.

Liberty's victory over Antioch advanced it to face Bay Valley Athletic League champion and No. 2 seed Deer Valley on Wednesday in round two of the playoffs. Results were unavailable, as the match took place after the Brentwood Press went to print.

The Wolverines (32-4) were unbeaten in league play this season, earning their first-ever BVAL crown.
