The Contra Costa County Fair opened its gates yesterday, and the biggest crowds are expected tonight and tomorrow. Today, children 12 and under enjoy free admission all day thanks to a Kids Day promotion sponsored by Golf N Games Family Fun Center.

There are several new attractions designed to delight children at this year's fair, including Kid's Town America, Sea Lion Splash, The Budweiser Clydesdales, KidzArt and a trackless train. These new additions join longtime favorites Circus Imagination, Brad's World Reptiles Educational Exhibit, the Walking Puppet Stage and the Kids Korral.

Kid's Town America, sponsored by California Pacific Federal Credit Union, is a completely kid-oriented "town" filled with hands-on attractions specifically geared for fairgoers 10 years and younger. Kids can participate in a wide range of activities, from hand painting to beanbag tosses, from daily coin "treasure hunts" in the shaded sandbox to bowling or hula hoops. Kids are admitted to each of the 10 stations at Kid's Town America free of charge.
