The Delta Dawgs 12U traveling baseball team spent a memorable week from June 30 to July 5, in Cooperstown, N.Y., home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. But the Dawgs weren't just there to celebrate baseball's greatest players; they were competing in the Cooperstown All-Star Village Invitational Tournament, which featured 20 teams from six states.

The Dawgs, comprised of players from Antioch and Brentwood, notched a 4-4 record, finishing seventh at the event. Throughout the week, the team batted a combined .425, hit 15 home runs, averaged more than 11 runs per game while only allowing six. The Dawgs outscored their opponents 91-48 in eight games.

"The boys were just awesome to watch," said coach John Zamora. "Against many of the strongest teams in the country, they represented the Dawgs, their hometowns, and their parents well on and off the field. The coaching staff and the organization couldn't be prouder. We are honored to take this team across the country to Cooperstown to compete."
