Sutter Elementary in Antioch recently converted a barren dirt area into a flowering reading garden. “The Reading Garden adds a breathtaking element to Sutter Elementary, encouraging students to read and giving them a greater connection to our school,” said Sutter Principal Paula McEvoy. Helpers, above from the left, included PTA President Steve Mohammed, PTA Treasurer Carol Wood, third-grade teacher Leslie Adams, McEvoy, Eagle Scout Douglas McDonald II and Rotary Club members Lonnie Karste, Tom Hartrick and Steve Culcasi.
