Editor:

On behalf of the Byron-Brentwood-Knightsen Union Cemetery District, I would like to thank the following organizations for their hard work and dedication in implementing a successful Memorial Day ceremony here at the cemetery on Monday, May 28, 2012:

Veterans of Foreign Wars Charles McCurtain Post 10789 for conducting the ceremony; The American Legion Roy Frerich’s Post 202 for maintaining the Veterans Memorial area and placing miniature flags on the headstones of veterans; the Brentwood Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the preparation, planting and cleaning of the cemetery grounds prior to the Memorial weekend; and Delta Informal Gardeners for the pruning of the roses throughout the cemetery.

Also, Boy Scouts of America Troops 93 and 514 for assisting the VFW with parking, setting up and tearing down; the Liberty High School band for supplying music for the ceremony; the various speakers and dignitaries who gave their time to be a part of the service; and finally, the citizens of East Contra Costa County for attending the ceremony. Your appreciation makes the memorial honoring this day even more worthwhile and enjoyable.

Yours truly,

Barbara Fee, District Manager
