Stephanie Dorothy (Hronski) Carey

Dec. 24, 1921-Jan. 24 2012

Stephanie, a resident of Summerset II in Brentwood, went to be with our Lord while at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Lewis (Carey), and Sharon’s husband, Noah of Brentwood; her younger sister, Dorrie Leach of Coon Rapids, Minn.; granddaughters, Lisa Alava of Pinole and Debbie Agnitsch of El Sobrante; great granddaughters, Stephanie and Amy Alva of Pinole; great grandsons, Antone, Andrew and Preston Agnitsch of El Sobrante.

She is preceded in death by husband Tom Carey; brothers Eddie, John, Walter and Tom Hronski; sisters Mary Hronski, Anne Cornea, Sophie Wojtowicz, Nellie Hronski and Stella Hagen; and ex-husband Andrew Haider.

Born to Polish American parents Michael and Catherine Hronski in Minneapolis, Stephanie was a Christmas Eve baby and the middle of 11 children. She and Tom raised daughter Sharon in El Sobrante. Stephanie was known for her cooking and baking. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her, laugh with her, eat with her and most of all, hug her. She was such a joy to know and love.

A funeral, officiated by Pastor Jim Hedon, was held at Hilltop Community Church in Richmond.
