The public is invited to attend a meeting with Brentwood Mayor Bob Taylor and BART Director Joel Keller on Tuesday, July 17 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. to discuss sites for future eBART stations. Attendees are encouraged to offer their input regarding where future stations might best serve the community.

The meeting will be held at the Brentwood Community Center, 35 Oak St. Translation services are available if requested three days prior to the meeting by calling BART’s Language Assistance Services at 510-464-6752.

For more information, call Ellen Smith, eBART project planning manager, at 510-287-4758 or e-mail esmith1@bart.gov.

Antioch will have no station to speak of unless you mean Hillcrest station in the planned East Contra Costa extesnion.. Pittsurg already have the station with BayPoint and there is no real demographic need for another station in Pittsburg until Antioch.. The planned Railroad station is too close to Bay Point that will mean that most riders living in Pittsburg will grab most of the parking before anyone in Antioch have the chance to... The guys in Antioch will be forced to take a reverse trip much eastwardly to Hillcrest before going westward toward San Francisco.. I think that the Railroad Station ought to be relocated eastward past Loveridge overpass close to Somersville Road interchange in between.. before adding the second station at Hillcrest Ave.. Why we allow no stations be place in the entire Antioch except on the far eastern outskirt of Antioch that serves nobody except Oakley and Brentwood.

If they mean to put the first eBart or full BART station at Railroad Rd Pittburg then on to Hillcrest then I would disagree with Railroad because it is only two miles from BayPoint station then pass practically everybody all way to HIllcrest to serve the upscale portion of Antioch .. Pittsburg would grab all the parkings at Railroad station before guys from Antioch had the chance to unless they put their gear in reverse all way back to Hillcrest before starting forward on .. This is illogical to all guys in Antioch to have the first station put on Railroad.. I think that Loveridge or Somersville is the logical next station after BayPoint whether it is Ebart or full BART.

I agree with you - Somerville is a better location, with more potential parking spaces. Do you know where the meeting will be on the 17th?

I dont understand what they are talking about .. Why are they so keyed up about Hillcrest station? What about A street or Somersville?? or even Contra Loma Blvd? what are the pluses and minuses for each of the above? And what are they talking about on one or two stations without offering the name for the second station whatsoever? Now they are asking for our opinions while we are still clueless... Should we wait out for real meat BART trains instead of settling on Ebart that emits diesel fumes and probaby go much slower than BART at 80mph...
